Today was our second day at cooking class and I'm proud to say that I'm getting the hang of things. We began our class today by learning how to make roses out of tomatoes for decorating various dishes. It was really difficult at first, but it's safe to say that I've never had so much fun peeling a tomato before! I would really like to continue to learn how to carve various fruits and vegetables, because it really showcases the art of food. Before this class I wouldn't have considered food a type of art, but now I believe that any one can create the most beautiful art piece from any type of food, especially vegetables or fruits.

Not only did I enjoy the vegetable carving in todays class, but I also enjoyed deep frying a flour mixture in order to create little cups that would later contain various fillings. This was the first time I deep fried something and it was a great learning experience.

Can't wait to see what I learn tomorrow!
