Day 4 at SITCA: More vegetable carving!

Once again today's class included some more vegetable carving. It never ceases to amazing me how a piece of vegetable that starts off absolutely shapeless, can turn into a delicate piece of art!

Today we witnessed a piece of daikon turn into a rose. The thick piece of daikon became paper thin and had the shape of a beautiful rose!

Watching was easy but I'm sure when it comes down to actually carving the rose it takes lots, and I mean A LOT of patience (which I personally don't have). It's a shame, but tomorrow I will be enjoying the last day of cooking lessons in Koh Samui : (
