Hello everybody!
A few things we all need to know before we head out to Thailand. If you don't want all your expensive electronics to blow up on you when you charge it or use it, you'll need a volt converter. In Thailand, the voltage is 220v while here in Canada, it is 110v. So unless you want to see fireworks inside your hotel room, I suggest you all to buy, borrow, find a voltage converter that converts from 220v to 110v. Also make sure the prongs on converters fit the plug in Thailand. They're two rods instead of two flat metals like the ones we have here. The pictures below will show you. If any of you want to buy a set of converters, Walmart has a set for about $20. If you are a regular overseas traveler, I recommend you buy the package in Walmart. Read more about the electricity in Thailand, link will be at the bottom.

Helpful Resource
Hey everyone!
Ms.W and I came across a blog about Thailand. This blog provides information on maps and landmarks of Bangkok, Thai handicraft, markets in Bangkok, including the floating market, some of the temples in Bangkok and much more! It's catered towards aiding those travelling to Thailand for the first time! So, if you need any inspiration or help with your research, have a look at http://www.hasekamp.net/
Also, I highly reccomend that everyone has a look at this link, http://www.hasekamp.net/dodont.htm, the do's and don'ts for a tourist in Thailand are clearly stated. It'll help us enjoy our trip that much more!
Can't wait to hear about all the exciting things that everyone discovers on this blog,
Gurleen

An intro...
I'm kind of new at this whole blogging experience... who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
For those of you who are reading this as an interested party, 9 Windermere culinary students and their teacher & chef are embarking on a 10-day Culinary experience to Thailand this Spring Break!
Seven of those days will be spent in Koh Samui attending SITCA for Intensive Thai Culinary Training:
and for the remainder of the trip we will be touring and tasting Bangkok!
Each student has been given the responsibility of researching and planning a different aspect of the trip so that everyone's trip needs are met.
Aside from attending culinary classes, the students will be journaling their thoughts and experiences via this blog: "wrecooks.blogspot.com"
Seeing how computer savvy this generation of students are, this should be a breeze for them! We welcome your thoughts and comments on our blog.
HAPPY READING! : )
